How to connect Rabby Wallet to Hyperliquid

Why this wallet gets recommended for this exchange

Rabby is an EVM wallet like any other, and the connection flow below is the same one MetaMask uses. Two differences are worth the switch.

It switches networks for you. A site that expects Arbitrum gets Arbitrum, without you noticing you were on Ethereum. The wrong-network mistake is the most expensive routine error in crypto, and this removes most of it.

It tells you what a signature will do. Before you approve, Rabby simulates the request and shows the effect: which assets move, which permissions are granted, whether the contract is known. MetaMask shows you a block of hex and asks you to trust it.

That second point matters more here than on most sites. Hundreds of lookalike domains exist for Hyperliquid specifically. A phishing clone can imitate the interface perfectly, but it cannot make a draining signature look harmless in a wallet that simulates it first.

Step by step

1. Install Rabby and back up the recovery phrase

   Install from your browser’s own extension store. Write the recovery phrase on paper before funding anything: anyone holding it holds your money, and no one can reverse that.

   If you already use MetaMask, you can import the same phrase and keep the same address, which means the same Hyperliquid account.

2. Open the app through a referral link

   The link applies the code automatically. You can also enter it manually on the referrals screen. Either way, before your first order.

3. Click Connect, then click MetaMask

   Rabby is not listed by name in the chooser, and that trips people up. It takes over the browser’s injected-wallet slot, which is the slot MetaMask normally occupies, so clicking MetaMask opens Rabby.

   If both are installed and the wrong one opens, disable the other extension or set Rabby’s priority in its own settings.

4. Accept the terms, and sign that too

   An easy step to be surprised by: accepting the Terms of Use and cookie policy is recorded as a signed message, not just a click. It costs no gas. Check the request comes from app.hyperliquid.xyz before you confirm.

   You should see two ticked checkboxes, then a signature request of type Hyperliquid:AcceptTerms

5. Click Establish Connection and read the preview before signing

   This is where Rabby earns its place. The signature is gas-free and authorises order placement through an agent key; it cannot withdraw funds. Rabby’s preview should say as much. If it shows a token approval or a transfer instead, stop and check the domain.

6. Deposit USDC

   Send USDC on Arbitrum, Ethereum, Base or Polygon. Rabby will offer to switch to the right chain rather than letting you send on the wrong one. Keep a little of that chain’s gas token; the trade itself costs no gas. The deposit guide covers every route.

What it costs once you are trading

Your wallet has no effect on your fees. At the entry tier a taker order costs 0.045% of notional, or 0.0432% with a code applied. What does change your cost is trading as a maker instead of a taker, which is worth more than every other lever combined.

Troubleshooting

MetaMask opens instead of Rabby. Both are competing for the same injected slot. Disable the one you are not using, or set Rabby’s priority in its own settings. There is no “Rabby” button to click instead.

Connected, but the site still shows disconnected. Remove the site from Rabby’s connected list, refresh, connect again.

The signature preview shows something unexpected. That is the feature working. Do not approve. Check the domain character by character against your bookmark.

Deposit sent, nothing arrived. Check the source chain explorer, then check whether it landed in Spot rather than Perps. Transferring between those two balances is free and instant.
