How to connect Trust Wallet to Hyperliquid
Verified against Hyperliquid docs: How to start trading and Hyperliquid docs: Referrals · by Hyperliquid Academy
Trust connects through WalletConnect
The connect dialog names six options: email login, MetaMask, Brave Wallet, WalletConnect, OKX Wallet and Coinbase Wallet. Trust Wallet is not one of them, and people read that as “not supported”.
It is supported. WalletConnect is the option to press. It is an open pairing protocol rather than a wallet, and it is how Trust connects to most sites, not just this one.
There are two ways to use it, and the mobile one is easier.
| Route | Where | The pairing step |
|---|---|---|
| In-app browser | Phone only | None — Trust connects to itself |
| QR code | Desktop site, phone signs | Scan once per session |
On mobile, the simpler route
-
Open Trust Wallet and find the browser
Trust ships a browser. Using it means the site and the wallet are the same app, so there is no QR code and no session to lose.
You should see an address bar inside the app
-
Go to the app through a referral link
The 4% discount only attaches to a wallet that has never traded, so this comes before anything else. It cannot be added afterwards.
You should see an invitation panel naming the code, before you connect
-
Press Connect, then WalletConnect
Inside the in-app browser this resolves to Trust itself rather than showing a QR code.
You should see Trust asking to connect to app.hyperliquid.xyz
-
Accept the terms, then sign them
The Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and cookie policy acceptance is a signed message, not just a tap. It costs no gas.
You should see two ticked checkboxes, then a signature request of type Hyperliquid:AcceptTerms
-
Press Establish Connection and sign the agent approval
Type ApproveAgent, gas-free. It authorises order placement through an agent key and cannot move funds out.
You should see the order ticket becoming active
On desktop, with the phone as the signer
-
Open the app on the desktop through a referral link
Same rule about the code, same reason.
You should see the invitation panel, before connecting
-
Click Connect, then WalletConnect
This is the generic pairing option, and it is the correct one for Trust.
You should see a QR code on the desktop screen
-
Scan it from inside Trust Wallet
Trust has a scanner in the app. After scanning, the desktop drives the interface and the phone signs.
You should see the desktop showing your address in the top-right corner
-
Approve each prompt on the phone
Every signature request now appears on the phone rather than the desktop. There are two of them before you can trade, and neither costs gas.
You should see the terms signature, then the agent approval, both on the handset
Read the domain on the phone, not the desktop
The pairing screen on your phone shows which site is asking. That is the copy worth reading, because a lookalike domain on the desktop looks convincing and its name still has to appear on the handset. Check it character by character the first time.
What you actually signed
Two prompts, and neither is a transfer.
Hyperliquid:AcceptTerms records that you accepted the Terms of Use and the cookie policy. It is a signature rather than a click because the acceptance is recorded on-chain rather than in a cookie.
ApproveAgent authorises an agent key to place orders on your behalf, so that trading afterwards needs no signature per order. It cannot withdraw. Withdrawals need a separate signature from the wallet itself, which is the property that makes the whole model safe to leave connected.
The account guide shows both prompts as screenshots.
What it costs once you are trading
Cost of a $10,000 taker order as each discount is added
- Base rate, no discounts $4.50 0.045% Tier 0, nothing staked
- With referral code $4.32 0.0432% 4% off, applies from trade one
- Referral + Silver staking $3.67 0.03672% Over 1K HYPE staked and linked
- Referral + Diamond staking $2.59 0.02592% Over 500K HYPE staked and linked
- Everything, at the top volume tier $1.38 0.01382% Over $7B of 14-day volume as well
Your wallet does not enter into it. At the entry tier a taker order costs 0.045% of notional, or 0.0432% with a code applied before the first trade.
Troubleshooting
The QR code will not scan. Refresh the desktop page to generate a fresh one. WalletConnect codes expire quickly by design.
Connected, then dropped a few minutes later. The session ended, usually because the app went to the background. Reconnect and carry on; nothing about your account depends on the session.
Signature prompts never arrive on the phone. Trust is not actually running in the background. Open it, then trigger the action again from the desktop.
Everything works, but the balance is zero. You are connected to the right wallet and it holds no USDC on Hyperliquid yet. The deposit guide covers the routes.
Where to go next
If you would rather trade on a desktop with a browser extension, the wallet comparison covers all six options. Phantom connects the same way, through WalletConnect, if you already use it for Solana.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Trust Wallet not in the wallet list?
The chooser names six options and Trust is not one of them. That is not a compatibility problem: WalletConnect is the generic route, and it is how most mobile wallets connect to most sites.
Can I trade from my phone with Trust Wallet?
Yes. Open app.hyperliquid.xyz in Trust Wallet's built-in browser and connect there, which avoids scanning anything. The interface is the full web app rather than a cut-down version.
Does the WalletConnect session expire?
Sessions do end, usually after a period of inactivity or when you close the app. Reconnecting is a rescan, and it does not affect your positions or balances, which live with the address rather than the session.
Is a mobile wallet safe enough for this?
It is a reasonable choice for a modest balance and a poor one for a large treasury. The recovery phrase sits on a phone that also runs everything else you install, which is the trade-off you are making.
Does Trust Wallet change my fees?
No. Fees come from your 14-day volume, your staking tier and whether a referral code was applied before your first trade. The wallet is irrelevant to all three.
