The rule that solves most of them

Check the explorer before you theorise. Whichever chain was involved, the explorer answers three questions that no amount of refreshing the app will: did the transaction happen, which token actually moved, and where did it end up.

Most reports of vanished money are one of three things the explorer settles in thirty seconds. The transaction never confirmed, so the funds never left. Or it confirmed with a different token than intended. Or it arrived exactly as asked and the person is looking at a different account.

The one that is genuinely unrecoverable

Everything else on this page has a way back. This one does not, so it is worth stating separately.

There is no support desk and nobody can reverse a transaction

Self-custody means the upside and the downside of holding your own risk. No one at Hyperliquid, and no one anywhere, can undo a settled transfer, recover a lost recovery phrase or reverse a signature you gave to a phishing site.

Anyone who contacts you offering to recover funds is stealing them. That is true without exception, and it is the most reliable pattern in this space: the recovery offer is itself the second attack.

What the honest prevention list looks like

Four habits remove most of the failure modes on this page, and none of them takes long.

Send a test amount on any route you have not used before. The cost of a test is a withdrawal fee; the cost of learning a route was wrong with your whole balance is your whole balance.

Read the network dropdown twice, on both sides. The exchange’s withdrawal screen and Hyperliquid’s deposit window have to agree, and the token has to match too — Arbitrum carries two different tokens both called USDC.

Reach the app from a bookmark, never from a link in a message. Hundreds of lookalike domains exist for this venue specifically, and no wallet choice protects you from typing the wrong address.

Use a hardware wallet for a balance you would be upset to lose. The agent-key model means you confirm on the device at setup and for withdrawals, not on every order, so the friction is much lower than people assume.

Things that look broken and are not

Your deposit is 0.2 USDC short. That is the deposit fee, stated in the window above the fields.

A native asset arrived but Perps shows nothing. BTC, ETH, SOL and the rest arrive as spot holdings by design. Sell for USDC, then transfer across. That transfer is free and instant.

Available leverage dropped when you increased your position. Margin tiers. Above a published notional threshold the maximum leverage for that market steps down. The leverage guide has the table.

Your order was rejected for no obvious reason. Usually a stop trigger placed on the wrong side of the current price, or a reduce-only order that would have opened a position. Order types covers the flags.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a support desk?

Not in the sense you are used to. Nobody can reverse a settled transaction, restore a lost key or unwind a mistaken transfer, and any account claiming otherwise is a scam. What exists is documentation, community channels and the chain itself, which is inspectable.

Which problems are actually recoverable?

Anything where the funds are still under your control: a deposit of the wrong token that stayed in your wallet, a balance sitting on the Spot side rather than Perps, a withdrawal that arrived and is being filtered by the receiving wallet. What is not recoverable is a transfer to an address nobody controls.

Where do I check first, every time?

The explorer for whichever chain was involved. It tells you whether the transaction happened at all, which token moved, and where it went. Most of the panic on this page comes from guessing before looking.

How do I report an error on this site?

Through the contact page. If a figure here disagrees with the app or the documentation, they are right and we want to know; material corrections are recorded in the changelog with a date.
